We invite you to come to one or more of our many classes on pregnancy and beyond. Take a look below at the classes we offer. 

Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond

Class Duration: 1.5 hours

Come learn about the benefits of breastfeeding for you and for baby:

  • Discuss common misconceptions about breastfeeding.

  • Learn how to feed your infant.

  • How to spot infant hunger signs.

  • Explore the basics of using a breastfeeding pump. Learn the differences between electric vs. hand pump.

  • Learn how your breasts change and how your body produces milk.

  • Discuss the role of the support person and how they can help with feedings.

  • Discuss breastfeeding options for going back to work or school.


Safe Riders Car Seat Class

Class Duration: 1 hour

Car seat safety. Come learn:

  • How to carefully read a car seat safety label.

  • Ways to safely install your baby's car seat.

  • When its time to upgrade to an appropriate car seat and its positioning as your child grows.

  • What items are appropriate for your baby while in a car seat.

What to bring:

If you already bought a car seat, please bring it to class for inspection and hands-on practice.


Childbirth Education

Class Duration: 5.5 hours

Childbirth classes prepare new mothers for the physical and emotional changes that happen during pregnancy, labor, and beyond.

Things to bring to class:

  • Nutritious lunch or snack.

  • Water or favorite beverage.

  • 2 medium pillows.

  • Light blanket or sweater.

  • Support person if possible.


Infant Care and Safe Sleep

Class Duration: 1.5 hours

Explore what to expect the first few weeks at home with a newborn baby and how to care for them:

  • How to bathe, diaper, and dress a newborn baby.

  • Know the different cries babies have and ways to soothe your baby.

  • Discuss newborn sleep patterns and how to safely put your baby to sleep.

  • Review crib safety and what is needed for baby to sleep safely.

  • Explore how to maximize support during the first few weeks.


Infant CPR (birth to 1-year old)

Class Duration: 2 hours

This is a non-certification class following the guidelines and techniques of the American Heart Association for performing CPR and how to respond if your baby is choking and/or not responding.

  • Hands on practice performing infant CPR.

  • The steps to take if your child is not breathing.

  • Discuss home safety and how to baby-proof your home.

  • Learn the 5 W's to call for help.


Becoming A Mom

Class Duration: 2.5 hours

Topics include:

  • What to expect during pregnancy.

  • Signs and symptoms of pre-term labor.

  • Birth and delivery process.

  • Postpartum care for mom and baby.

  • Postpartum blues and depression.

  • Parenting styles and communication.

  • How to set healthy boundaries and discipline.

  • How to get support and resources in the community.

  • Life changes with baby: work, school, relationships and most importantly, YOU.
